In April 2001, A New York Times editorial described the Naropa University Archive as one of the three most important audio collections of twentieth-century American poetry and literary culture. Each issue of Naropa Magazine will showcase a piece of Naropa's literary legacy.

Gary SnyderThis August 1983 recording is of Gary Snyder reading in Boulder for the first time since 1972. It is a selection of poetry from his work Axe Handles. The commentary between poems reflects his interest in Buddhism and his travelling and anthropological experiences.
