Students from marginalized locations are particularly vulnerable to exclusion in institutions of higher education. Naropa University knows that a key to recruiting and retaining these students is fostering a sense of belonging—connecting students with both academic and social support that will help them complete their undergraduate degree programs.

To help make this a reality, Naropa University intends to establish an annual cohort of approximately ten to fifteen at-risk, first-generation students from underrepresented populations for their four-year Naropa experience.

This cohort program will provide:

—Enhanced scholarships.

—Subsidized housing.

—Community-building events.

—Support services tailored to the needs of these students.

We want to guide and support these students in navigating the university system and environment, cultivating academic camaraderie, and a true sense of supported belonging.

Watch for more information as this program develops. To inquire and to receive updates, or to support Naropa’s efforts for this program, contact Naropa’s Development Office at development@naropa.edu.
